Characteristics: Made from applying laminate (Thickness 0.72 to 1.5mm) on a plywood/MDF/HDHMR board (Thickness 12mm, 16mm, 19mm, 25mm), resulting in a Various finishes such as Matt, glossy, Leather, Stripped finish.

Advantages and distinct features: Very Cost Effective, Durable, can be finished in various Grained & Solid color finishes, Low VOC

Disadvantages: Edges (Ply thickness side needs to be finished by wooden or PVC edge bend) may give away the premium look & Laminate may slightly de-colour.

Scratch Resistance: Moderate to High

Maintenance: Easy to wipe with a cloth & with any residential use, cleaning agent

Solid Wood Shutters

Characteristics: Made from natural wood, offering a classic, rustic, and elegant look.

Advantages or Distinctive Feature: Cost can vary with quality of solid wood, but pricier than Laminates. Very easy to work & can have contours on the surface

Durable, can be finished in various stains or paints shades. Very Low VOC,

Disadvantages: Potential termite issues (solvable with chemical treatments), difficult to create solid colours shutters

Scratch Resistance: High

Maintenance: Wipe with a cloth & water only and avoid using cleaning agents

Lacquered Glass Kitchen Shutters

Characteristics: Glass lacquering is a process depositing and baking a lacquer (paint) coating on one side of the base glass, usually clear glass. The lacquer gives it a coloured and opaque appearance. Then the lacquered Glass is fixed into a aluminum profile shutter frame or can be pasted to the back of a plywood/MDF/HDHMR, resulting in a glossy, colored shutter.

Advantages and distinct feature: Reflections are clear and vibrant appearance, available in many colors, easy to clean and stains, Durable and Low VOC

Disadvantages: Requires precision, skilled workmanship and proper installation for best results. Lacquered glass can be expensive than solid wood shutters

Scratch Resistance: Very High

Acrylic Shutters

Characteristics: Made from durable plastic, available in high gloss and matte finishes.

Advantages: Wide variety of Acrylic shutters available in market from 1 mm to 2mm thickness. which offers high price variations from low cost to Higher cost ranges

Disadvantages: Due to Acrylic thickness variations, many acrylic types do not offer the same luxurious feel as wood or glass. Acrylics shutters are Durable and Moderate VOC

Characteristics: MDF shutters spray-painted with high-gloss auto-coat paint and covered with a clear polyurethane finish.

Advantages: Since the base material is MDF/HDHMR, it becomes easy to work & different contours and designs can be made on the shutter surface before applying PU. Shutters can be painted in a very wide range of colours

Disadvantages: Slightly more expensive than Acrylic or Lacquered finishes. Conventionally PU paint takes long time to dry and increasing the finishing process but with flash-off or HOT AIR drying processes, the finishing is faster but has a significant cost increase

Scratch Resistance: Moderate to High

Maintenance: Easy to wipe with a cloth & with any residential use, mild cleaning agent
